Simien & Miniex have been handling personal injury cases and other type matters since 1987. During this time we have handled literally thousands of cases so it is impossible to list all cases. Our largest judgment in a personal injury case was approximately $2 million dollars, which was a case tried in St. Landry Parish. This case involved the death of a young girl who was accidentally killed by an intoxicated driver. The intoxicated driver had very little insurance. However, the police department in this case had stopped the intoxicated driver earlier on the day of the accident but failed to arrest him. Simien and Miniex filed suit against the police department and the intoxicated driver. We were able to recover damages against both the intoxicated driver and the police department for the family of the young girl.

Our firm has represented many clients that resulted in settlements or trial verdicts above $100,000.00. We are listing only a few of the matters below:

Our firm represented a client involved in an auto accident in which the client sustained deformity at the mid humerus with bruising, fractured dislocation of the right hip with a posterior dislocation, fractures of the right acetabulum, displaced right humeral shaft, left non-displaced distal radius fracture of the left wrist and right radial nerve injury in the right arm. This case settled for $675,000.00.

Our firm also represented a client involved in a major auto accident in which our client sustained serious and permanent injuries such as puncture of a lung, permanent tears to the upper epigastic area, comminuted fracture of the right patella and large polyp on the right true vocal chord. This matter settled for $510,000.00.

Another matter handled by the firm involved a serious automobile accident in which our client suffered injury to peroneal posterior tibia nerve of the right leg, fracture of right fourth rib, open fracture of right ankle, open fracture of right oscalsic, stellate laceration of liver and atrophy of right lower extremity below the knee. The matter settled for $450,000.00.
